Research

Dr. Carolyn Nessim is a Clinician Investigator in the Cancer Therapeutics Program at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI). Her main research interests are in the improvement and assessment of quality indicators in cancer surgery (Melanoma and Sarcoma/GIST) as well as the investigation of translational biomarkers and immunomarkers in melanoma and sarcoma, which are prognostic and predictive of treatment efficacy.

Dr. Carolyn Nessim is an active member on the Ontario Cancer Research Ethics Board (OCREB) as well as a member of the Transatlantic RetroPeritoneal Sarcoma Working Group (TARPSWG) and the Global Melanoma Research Network (GMRN). . She is also a member of Cancer Care Ontario’s Melanoma working group for the development of guidelines in the treatment of Melanoma.
